The Villain Era: Embracing Personal Transformation

It is the beginning of a new season! Today marks the start of both the Fall equinox and Libra season, making it an opportune time to delve into the infamous "Villain Era". Lately, I have noticed many astrology content accounts on social media discussing which zodiac signs are experiencing their own villain era. Libra has been one of the most notable signs in this discussion lately because the node signs shifted with Aries being the North Node and Libra being the South Node. If you read my astrology guide, I speak about the nodes the south node represents what you need to let go of. Libras are known for their people-pleasing tendency and reliance on partnerships which for the most part have not been serving them. As a result, they are shedding their old way of doing things and embracing more of their sister sign (Aries) traits.

Other zodiac signs that have been described as being in their villain era for 2023 are:

  • Pisces- Saturn entered in March 2023 and will stay until 2026.

  • Leo- Black moon Lilith influence (will end in October)

  • Capricorn- Pluto retrograded back in the sign and will remain until the end of 2023

Honorable mentions: These were the predictions from late 2022/ early 2023

  • Cancer

  • Scorpio

  • Aquarius

The term “Villain era” tends to have a negative connotation, but it is simply a time when you put yourself first and really prioritize what you need in order to feel fulfilled. If you are a retired people pleaser (like me) or want to be, this blog post will cover all aspects of what is needed during this time in your life in order to truly transform.

Rest, Recharge, and Revaluate

Your “Rest and Recharge era” is the necessary “pre-Villain era” step you can't skip. Most likely if you were thinking of entering your villain era, something in your life has been signaling to you. Some examples are:

  • You’ve been feeling tired of people mistreating you

  • You’ve been more direct with things you want

  • You’ve felt like parting ways with objects and/ or people that you used to feel sentimental towards

  • You’ve been more with expressing your opinions

  • You have been saying “No” without guilt and no explanation

  • There’s no longer a need for outside validation or outside approval

Those things you are experiencing have a deeper meaning, so be intentional by doing the work. Shadow work is something briefly mentioned but in order to really transform during this era, you can’t be afraid of the dark. This time is to really evaluate what fuels your energy vs. what drains you, to understand your fears that you may not have realized because it was so normalized, the things you subconsciously developed for the external world (friends, family, media, etc.) and understand how it all formed your beliefs and your identity.

Also, one thing you could be experiencing is that you may feel like there is a gap between them. who you are and who you know you are meant to be, so taking time to really rest from your outside influences and recharge you can go through this process with a clear mind.

Boundaries and Time/ Energy Management

We can’t talk about a villain era without the main tool to help you no longer be taken advantage of aka boundaries. This is a time when you gotta prioritize yourself and take the necessary steps to meet your own needs. It's all about recognizing that your time and energy are valuable resources that deserve to be protected. Sometimes we unintentionally make ourselves too available to things that drain our energy physically, mentally, and emotionally. We may find ourselves saying "yes" to every request, taking on more responsibilities than we can handle, and constantly putting others before ourselves. But let me tell you, that's not sustainable in the long run. It's like running on empty, and eventually, you'll crash and burn.

So, during this villain era, it's important to ask yourself if those things that drain your energy are truly essential in your life. If not, then it's time to actively remove or reduce their impact by setting boundaries and limiting your exposure to them. It's not always easy to say "no" or cut ties with people or activities that no longer serve you, especially when they have a significant influence on your life. But remember, you have the power and agency to prioritize your well-being and growth.

Boundaries go hand in hand with time management and energy management. When you establish clear boundaries, you're making a conscious decision about how you want to spend your time and where you want to direct your energy. It's about being intentional and deliberate with your choices. Don't be afraid to establish clear boundaries, manage your time wisely, and protect your energy. Recognize that self-preservation is not synonymous with being a villain. It's actually an essential aspect of your personal growth and transformation journey.

The Aesthetics

This phase of the transformation journey is all about finding your unique style. It's not just about surface-level changes, but a deep exploration of your personal aesthetic and what makes you feel truly empowered and confident.

During this phase, take the time to understand how you truly feel about yourself and the impact it has on your personal growth. Curate a playlist that resonates with your aspirations and lifts your spirits. Music has a powerful influence on our emotions and can be a great source of inspiration and motivation.

Experiment with different fashion trends and outfits that express your unique personality. Discover the colors that make you feel powerful and incorporate them into your wardrobe. Dressing in a way that aligns with your inner self will boost your confidence and positively impact your mindset.

Consider the power of scent. Choose a signature fragrance that embodies your essence and makes you feel empowered. Fragrances have a profound effect on our emotions and can serve as a source of comfort, confidence, and self-expression.

Creating a positive physical space is also important for fostering personal growth. Decorate and organize your surroundings in a way that reflects your inner journey. Clear away clutter and add elements that uplift your spirits, such as artwork, plants, or meaningful objects. Surrounding yourself with positive energy creates a sanctuary that supports your personal development.

Actions and activities

During a villain era, it is essential to focus on personal growth and transformation by taking intentional actions and engaging in various activities. Here are some detailed suggestions to help you make the most out of this transformative period:

Develop Skills: Dedicate time and effort to practice and enhance the skills that align with your goals and aspirations. Identify the skills you need to become the person you aspire to be, whether it's in your personal life, career, or relationships. Engage in self-study, take relevant courses, seek mentorship from individuals who have already achieved what you desire, and continuously work on developing your skills. By investing in your growth through skill development, you are actively shaping your future self and moving closer to your desired outcomes.

Self Preservation doesn't make you the villain

This blog post may be shorter than usual, but there's a reason behind it. I want to dive into this topic more piece by piece and really make insightful content that really showcases everything I learned so far. Lately, I've been in a phase of spending a lot of time by myself, diving deep into introspection and self-reflection. It's a transformative era where I'm finally able to address the things that have been holding me back. In the past, I used to rely heavily on others for my own confidence, allowing their opinions to occupy so much of my headspace. I would often find myself questioning my worth, thinking, "If my own friends don't take an interest in what I say, how can I ever become an influencer or a life coach if my words feel meaningless?" or “How can I even think about being a content creator or influencer when my life is so boring… I’m so boring”.

But I've come to realize that these beliefs were nothing more than disconnected ideas that held me back from pursuing what truly fills me up. I had also fallen into the trap of believing that success could only be measured in one specific way. However, as I let go of these limiting beliefs, a sense of peace has washed over my life.

Everything that has unfolded in the past few months is just the beginning of my personal growth journey. I still have a lot of unlearning to do, shedding the layers of conditioning that have shaped my perception of self-worth and success. If there's one thing I want to emphasize, it's that prioritizing yourself in your own life doesn't make you a bad person. You don't have to be selfish, narcissistic, or harmful to others in order to meet your own needs.

Self-preservation is about finding the delicate balance between giving and receiving, knowing how much you can offer without sacrificing your own well-being. Some people may not appreciate the boundaries you put up, but remember that you are simply doing your part in taking care of yourself.

So, as you embark on your own journey of self-preservation, embrace the fact that it's okay to prioritize your own needs. Release any guilt or fear of judgment that may arise. Believe that you are worthy of experiencing fulfillment, growth, and happiness. And always remember, you can't give the best of you if if there's nothing left of you.
